Royal Madikwe is a luxury safari residence situated in the 76 500 ha Madikwe Game Reserve, offering the perfect destination for families and groups of friends wanting more than just space in a lodge, but rather a lodge that is their own private space.
The Royal Madikwe is available on an exclusive basis only and our commitment to you allows absolute flexibility to plan bespoke safaris and bush experiences of a lifetime.

Royal Madikwe is unlike other luxury safari destinations and welcomes families with children of all ages. Due to the exclusivity that we offer, families can relax and feel at home. Children are stimulated, educated and entertained by their African Bush surroundings and by our warm, friendly team. No set Safari Kid programmes are offered but rather designed on arrival, according to the children’s interests.

Royal Madikwe accommodates 10 guests in 4 Luxury Double Suites, with Four Poster beds, and one Luxury Twin Suite. The sumptuous suites provide further sanctuary. Crisp cool linen meets indigenous dark wood to create your luxurious sleeping quarters. A log burning fire for cool African evenings and a plunge pool for hot summer days. This exclusive space includes a bath designed for two and a choice of indoor or outdoor shower. The covered deck provides the perfect vantage point for overlooking the well-frequented waterhole in complete privacy.
The suites are also furnished with mini bar and air conditioner/heater.
The Luxury Family Suite is situated within the Main Lodge and consists of one Double Room with an en-suite bathroom and one Twin Room with en-suite shower room.
Unique African flavours coupled with the finest estate wines, served at a magnificent table under a canopy of constellations.
We will always do our best to meet every dietary requirement, so please advise us prior to your arrival.
A refined touch of African luxury coupled with unsurpassed hospitality defines the Royal Madikwe. Ancient Leadwood and Marula trees fuse in a celebration of contemporary design to create the main lodge. The distinctively stylish lounge, dining room and well appointed library, lead to broad elevated decks and sweeping views of the landscape.
Situated within the main lodge is the Curio Shop, Main Lounge, Dining Room, Library, Wine Cellar, Cigar Lounge, Indoor and Outdoor Bar, Boma, Viewing Deck, GPRS Telescope, TV Lounge/
Kids Play Room, Main Pool & a variety of other elevated decks, all overlooking our well frequented Water Hole. An Internet connection and fax use is available upon request.
Each day at the Royal Madikwe is designed entirely by you with the guidance of the hosts’ local knowledge. Enjoy early morning and evening game drives in an open safari vehicle, accompanied by an experienced ranger. There is no set itinerary to follow but we have a few suggestions that may interest you: These will need to be arranged prior to guests’ arrival;

Every Reservation is given complete exclusivity and private use of the Royal Madikwe Luxury Safari Residence.
1-4 guests R 24 000.00

These rates are fully inclusive of:
• private return one-hour charter flights from Johannesburg (Rand Airport) into the reserve,
• private road transfer from Johannesburg International Airport to Rand Airport,
• safari activities, accommodation, meals, local beverages, park entry fees and laundry.
Our rate also includes an airport assistance service, which meets our guests directly off their international/domestic flight at Johannesburg Airport and escorts the party through immigration, baggage claim & customs and on to their awaiting private chauffer driven black Mercedes
Excluded from the rate are: - any optional day trips, cellar wines, champagne & cigars.
A 25% non-refundable deposit is due 8 weeks prior to arrival.
Full and final payment is due 4 weeks prior to arrival.
Please note that the aircraft will remain at the airstrip within the Reserve until the guests’ departure and therefore remain at the disposal of the guests. For our guests staying 4 nights or more, we offer a complimentary day visit to Sun City (Lost City), which is only a 20 minute flight from Royal Madikwe. This could be a fun filled day for the family at the Valley of the Waves or for a round of golf at one of Gary Players renowned golf courses. Other use requests of the plane are subject to the pilot’s approval and will be charged at an additional cost. |
