Rietvlei Holiday Farm is a working fruit and wine farm, situated in the safe and serene Little Karoo.

At Rietvlei, parents can safely leave their kids to play on the lawns, in the play park or feed the attention-craving farm animals.
The weather is usually friendly and sunny, but should there be a cool spell, every cottage has a comfortable indoor fireplace, where the family can relax. For the warm days the air conditioners will do the job.
Indoor and outdoor games are available for young and old and a well- enclosed large swimming pool in front of the dwellings provides lots of entertainment.
For the young at heart there are quad bikes for hire (or bring your own), to be used on the very exciting racing or technical tracks and for the older hearts, scenic guided tours in the hills and over the farm ensures great pleasure. (For the smaller ones, we have a very safe mini-track.)
For the more energetic, our mountain bikes, (or your own, if you wish) will tire you out within a few hours on beautiful trails over the farm and mountains.
Lovely bird-watching-walks with the whole family, on hiking trails, or trips to the dam, where fishermen can try their skills, or daddy can row a dingy, will make your days just too short.
Horse riding is available on adjacent farms.
Rietvlei often takes it’s guests on a tractor ride over the farm…and do the kids enjoy driving the tractor by themselves!!!
At sunset families get together round the braai fires on the lawn, or round the pool with a beer, or the well-known Montagu wines.
The one thing Rietvlei does not feature, is “Television”, as the tranquil farm atmosphere and the children’s enthusiastic playing must not be interrupted with boring TV!
Safety is our motto, so we have strict quad bike rules, a fenced in pool, no Foefie-slide riding without the parent’s consent, qualified first aid personnel, with the Montagu hospital and doctors within 15 minutes drive from the farm.
5 units are available, sleeping mostly 6 persons each.
Units consist of 2 or 3 bedrooms, open plan living room/kitchen and bathroom/ toilet. Most have showers, but some have baths.
Our “Honeymoon cottage” is some distance away from the rest of the accommodation and superior to the still very comfortable “Pool cottages”
Cots can be supplied if there is a need.
Your favourite pet is also welcome, as long as it is well controlled and won’t look down on our own “lowly farmish” dogs!
Cottages are well-equipped and mostly self catering, but special arrangements can be made with Adri or Pieter, to have breakfast in their own farm homes, with a wholesome “farm breakfast”, where you can eat till you drop!
Braai facilities are provided, as well as firewood.
Rietvlei is about 13 km/8 minutes out of Montagu town, on the
Route 62, towards Barrydale. Tarmac road most of the way plus another 2 km good gravel road.
Road signs are descriptive, so it is difficult to get lost!
Montagu features several very good shops and restaurants and famous eating out places. We are also world famous for our hot springs and the “Langeberg tractor ride”.
If you have overdone it, then the Montagu hospital and doctors are within 15 minutes drive from the farm!

Present rates are R120 per adult per night, sharing.
Only 1 single person R200 per night
R 50 per child 3-18 years (When accompanied by parents)
R nil per child under 3
From 1 December Rates for adults increase to R150 p/p per night
Children’s rates stay the same. |
